Beauty out of Nothing
When we look about today, we see the beautiful creation of God; so many wonders around us. Our thoughts need to go back to how it all began. In Genesis 1:2 we read about how the earth is described as formless with an empty darkness over the surface of the deep. I am sure we would have had nothing to marvel at, at that point in time. As we read further, we read how God took this formless and empty Earth and began the wonderful work of creating this beautiful Earth that now exists. At the time of creation we observe, that it was the Spirit of God, who was hovering over the formless and empty earth. Later we see God speaking His word over the earth. Through this we can see that God, through His Spirit and Word, brought about beauty and form from a state of formlessness and darkness.
When you look at the present church we will once again observe the Spirit of God and the Word of God working in and through it. In John 14:15-16, Jesus tells His disciples, “If you love Me, you keep My commandments. And I will ask the Father and He will give you another Helper, to be with you forever.” Further in John 14:26 He says, “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.” Jesus speaks about the work of the Holy Spirit. In the book of John we observe Jesus telling His disciples in John 8:31 “If you abide in My word, you are truly My disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
In the present age, God’s Word and His Spirit are in operation in the lives of every Christian just as it was at the time of creation. His Spirit and His Word have brought beauty out of nothingness, and so also today His Word and His Spirit will bring beauty out of your nothingness. No matter how empty you are, no matter how dark your times are, no matter how hopeless your situation is- He is working to restore you, to renew you, to beautify you and bring good in your life.
So I encourage you grow deeper in Him by continually fellowshipping with the Holy Spirit and meditating daily in His word.
